Installation

Requirements

Maya	2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
Platform	Windows 64-bit, macOS, Linux

Drag-and-Drop Install (Recommended)

1. Unzip the downloaded archive.

2. Open Maya 2023 or later.

3. Drag scripts/advBlendshapeTools/install_advBlendshapeTools.py into the Maya viewport.

The installer copies the module folder to your Maya user directory, registers the .mod file, and creates an ABT shelf tab. A confirmation dialog appears when complete.

4. Restart Maya.

Manual Install

Windows

Maya user directory: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\maya\

1. Copy the advBlendshapeTools folder to modules\advBlendshapeTools\

2. Copy advBlendshapeTools.mod to modules\

3. Copy shelves\shelf_ABT.mel to prefs\shelves\

macOS

Maya user directory: ~/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/

1. Copy the advBlendshapeTools folder to modules/advBlendshapeTools/

2. Copy advBlendshapeTools.mod to modules/

3. Copy shelves/shelf_ABT.mel to prefs/shelves/

Linux

Maya user directory: ~/maya/

1. Copy the advBlendshapeTools folder to modules/advBlendshapeTools/

2. Copy advBlendshapeTools.mod to modules/

3. Copy shelves/shelf_ABT.mel to prefs/shelves/

Restart Maya after manual install.

Launching

Click the ABT button on the ABT shelf, or run:

from advBlendshapeTools.ui.adv_blendshape_tool import show
show()

Uninstalling

1. Delete %USERPROFILE%\Documents\maya\modules\advBlendshapeTools\

2. Delete %USERPROFILE%\Documents\maya\modules\advBlendshapeTools.mod

3. Remove the ABT shelf tab in Maya’s shelf editor.

4. Restart Maya.
